To grow and die is to die and grow

This piece is inspired by the ruin and resilience of our earth. I grieve for our environment and struggle to comprehend the horrors that current destruction will cause for future generations. The art of weaving and embroidery is meticulous and time-consuming, giving me the space to process and project these feelings. My art practice focuses on fibers and mixed media, as I am interested in how materials and methods can be transformed and woven with one another. Through the knots and texture and time, this work highlights the earth's continuous cycle, as to grow and die is to die and grow.
