Serigraphy

I love the process of screen printing in terms of thinking about the final result in layers. Dividing up the visual into separate layers by color and depth forever changed the way I approach the building blocks of a project.

The first piece is titled Henri's Table, inspired by Henri Matisse's interior table settings. I enjoy Matisse's use of color and texture and his impressionistic view on everyday items. The second print is titled 5:13 PM and is a 7 layer print. I wanted to focus on the special calm and quiet of the city in the evening; looking through to another world. The last piece showcased is Melting Light, as I love the phenomenon of street lights shining on the pavement. This natural yet unnatural light sparkles through the cement city.
